Food items and Clothes are collected and distributed to the needy mainly twice a year during the Easter and Christmas seasons. This could have been done on a more regular basis but it is because of the limited resources. However, the most needy are always assisted as need may arise.
Apart from offering tangible items the leaders in the Good Samaritan Department right from the Basic Christian Communities up to the Parish level visit the needy in their communities. Providing of the counselling services to the Sick especially the HIV – AIDS victims is yet to be realized still due to limited resources.
The Good Samaritan Department in conjunction with the Youth and the leaders of the elderly also organize annual cerebration functions that bring the needy together. The Department gets financial, material and moral support for its activities from Christians and well-wishers. However, the Department is supposed to establish a fund to implement its activities on a sustainable basis.
THE GOAL: To reach out to the needy with essential commodities and services on a quarterly basis annually.
