PARISH PRIEST’S SPEECH ON THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

Fr. Joseph Mukiibi, the Priests of Kansanga Parish, the Religious Sisters within Kansanga Parish, the Head of the laity at Kansanga Parish, the Executive committee Kansanga Parish, the Executive committees of the sub-Parishes and the Basic(small) Christians Communities, members of the Development Committee and Forum, the different Catholic actions and movements, members of the Parish council and all of you people of God.

I congratulate you upon celebrating these year’s feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is the Patroness of Kansanga Catholic Parish. The Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is celebrated on 16th July every year; but since this year 16th July is not a Sunday, we decided to celebrate it today on the 14th July 2024.

The theme for our celebration is; We the baptize let us Journey together in communion, participation and mission. We Should Journey together as we build the kingdom of God in Kansanga Parish. We should Journey together as a Parish in thanking God for the Service of Fr. Joseph Mukiibi at Kansanga Parish from February 2020 up to April 2024.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is the title given to the blessed Virgin Mary in her role as Patroness of the Carmelite Orders. It is believed that Mother Mary gave the Scapular to Simon stock and the association of Carmel Orders on Mt. Carmel. Mother Mary promised that whoever died in it would not suffer everlasting punishment and would quickly be release from purgatory.

Let us entrust ourselves to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, so that by her intercession we may always seek the things of heaven. We give thanks to God for Fr. Joseph Mukiibi’s service at Kansanga Parish from February 2020 up to April 2024. We also thank Fr. Mukiibi for the great work he did at Kansanga Parish. We pray that Our Lady of Mt. Carmel may guide him as he leads the people of God to the heavenly kingdom. We also pray for a successfully ministry where he is now posted.
We pray that Our Lady of Mt. Carmel may intercede for us so that we seek the kingdom of heaven most especially by renovating Our Parish Church. We have placed the model of the church in front of the altar so that you may see how the church is to look like.

I wish you a happy feast day. By the intercession of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel let us Journey together in Communion, Participation and Mission.
